The course prepares future business and economic reporters and that is why the classes start with a “crash course” on economic notions important to journalists (including mixed topics, related to social, political spheres, etc.). As introduction, there will be presented some basic notion about the way the economy is functioning (political economy) as well as state economic politicise (making reference to transitional processes affecting the population that took place in ECE and CIS).
The aim of the Course is for the students to understand better what is economic reporting, how are written the economic articles that influence the economic sphere and how to avoid mistakes which would undermine an interesting subject, which are the writing rules for the text to be a comprehensive and clear for the public. At the end of the Course, the participants will have a better understanding of the economic topics of a general public interest and a better capacity to ask relevant questions and to make sure that there is a balance of the sources when the article on an economic topic is being produced.
