16 young people have graduated from Chisinau School of Advanced Journalism

The Chisinau School of Advanced Journalism has launched the second class of students on Saturday, July 5. The graduation ceremony took place in Rezina town with participation of students, instructors and representatives of local media.

This year 16 young journalists graduated from the School. During ten months they learnt how to write news, to produce subjects for radio and television, to take pictures, to write political, economical and social articles, as well as investigations. All these courses were taught by local and foreign media experts.

At Rezina, the young journalists visited the weekly newspaper "Cuvantul" and had a meeting with the director of the newspaper Tudor Iascenco. Also, the graduates had chance to discuss with journalists from regional TV station TV Elita and to see their daily work conditions.

The School of Advanced Journalism was launched in 2006, September 4 with the aim to prepare journalists for Moldavian mass media. First 19 young journalists graduated the school last year. Majority of them work in mass media, for Radio Free Europe, TV Moldova 1, TV 7, Infotag, Info-Prim Neo, Business Class and others.

The School of Advanced Journalism is a joint project of the Independent Journalism Centre, the Missouri School of Journalism and the Paris-based Journalism School and Training Centre. The project is financed by the MATRA Programme of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and implemented by Press Now.
