2018-2019 School year

Eleven students were enrolled in the 2018-2019 school year. Most of them are from Chisinau, but we also have young people from Ialoveni, Rezina, Sângerei, Briceni and Dubăsari.

Promotion 2017-2018

The class of 2017-2018 has ten people. Most of the young people are from Chisinau, but we also have students from Nisporeni, Hancesti and Comrat. The students enrolled to the School of Advanced Journalism for academic year 2017-2018 have license degrees in various fields: journalism, communication sciences, foreign languages, editorial activity, political science, economics, law, philosophy, music, theater and fine arts.

The class of 2016-2017 has fourteen people. The majority of students are from Chisinau, but we also have young people from Briceni, Ialoveni, Soldanesti and Edinet. The students enrolled to the School of Advanced Journalism for academic year 2016-2017 have license degrees in various fields. Two of them graduated university with specialization in Journalism and Communication Studies, while others studied Law, International Relations, History and Psychology, Philology, Cadastre, Geodesy and Constructions, Finance and Banks, Business and Economy. One of the SAJ students graduated from the University of Exeter Department of Economy and Politics (the UK).

2015-2016 class

There are 16 students (13 ladies and three men) in the tenth group of SAJ students. Most have degrees in journalism, but there are also students with degrees in international relations, history, law, foreign languages, IT, fine arts and agronomy.

2014-2015 class

There are 13 students in the 2014 - 2015 SAJ class. Most students are from Chisinau; however there are several students coming from other regions of the country. The students have degrees in law (four persons), international relations, economy and tourism, philology, acting and stage directing; some of them are currently working on MA's or PHD's. Two of the students have degrees in journalism, including several graduates of universities in Romania. Most of them have a rich experience of volunteering for various national and international organizations, such as MediaPoint, Youth Parliament, the Helsinki Committee for Freedom of the Press.

Class 2013-2014

Class 2013/2014 consists of 10 girls and 5 boys. Most students come from Chişinău, but there also are young people from other localities of Moldova. The news students hold Bachelor degree in law (4 students), international relations, economics and tourism, philology, acting and production, but there are also Master and PhD graduates. Two students completed studies in journalism, including in Romania. Most of them have a wide experience in volunteering at various national and international organizations, such as MediaPoint, Youth Parliament, and Helsinki Press Freedom Committee.

Class 2012-2013

Class 2012/2013 of the School of Advanced Journalism consisted of 18 students (6 boys and 12 girls).  For ten months, they studied the standards and practices of western journalism and how it can be applied in Moldova. Students’ academic background was very diverse (including, psychology, arts and show business, economics, biology etc). Five of them have studied journalism or communications before.

Class 2011-2012

Class 2011/2012 of the School of Advanced Journalism was composed of 18 persons (2 boys and 16 girls). The graduates’ age ranged from 22 to 37 years. Student’s academic background was very diverse (including philology, communication, IT, history etc.). Most of the students enrolled in the 2011/2012 class graduated economics (5 persons). 4 of the students have studied journalism or communications before. Of all the students enlisted to the SAJ, five of them, before the matriculation, worked for national media outlets, including PubliKa TV, TV Moldova 1, radio Vocea Basarabiei and Press Agency “Moldpress”.

In the 2010/2011 class of the School of Advanced Journalism 16 students (3 boys and 14 girls) were enrolled. The average age of the students was 24. The students’ backgrounds varied from food technologies and philology to law and political sciences. Three of them had studied journalism or communications before.

Class 2009-2010

The fourth class of students enrolled in the School of Advanced Journalism, during the academic year 2009/2010, consisted of 15 persons (2 boys and 13 girls). Most were graduates in economics (5) and linguistics (4). Unlike previous classes, only one student had a journalistic background. The others graduated in arts, law, management, political science, medicine or history. The median age of the students was 24 years.

Class 2008/2009 of the School of Advanced Journalism (SAJ) was composed of 17 students (13 girls and 4 boys). From September 2008 to June 2009, the students studied in a newsroom environment the standards and practices of western journalism and how it can be applied by Moldovan media outlets.

Class 2007/2008 of the School of Advanced Journalism consisted of 16 students (13 girls and 3 boys).  Similar to previous year, students had very diverse academic backgrounds (philology, economics, sociology, sports, economics, political science etc.). Most of the students enrolled in the 2007/2008 academic year were graduates in economics (5), journalism and communications (3).
