Political Journalism



The Course sets out to offer to students the necessary abilities for a multilateral approach of some political topics, documents, research and reflection of the political events. During the Course’s presentations the students are learning about political systems and the current political situation in Moldova, main political actors and relations between them, national and regional policies, EU institutions and international organizations, deontology and the language while reflecting politics, and the functions of the press during election campaigns.

The students will work mainly on practical level, where they will discuss about payers, processes, themes and strategies that create political scenarios at national level. Students will produce articles about the current political situation and will evaluate them from different aspects, like: political communication and public opinion, civic journalism and the role of the press in a democratic society.  During the classes of political journalism, the students will participate in many debates on different topics with guest from politics. Among the covered topics are: freedom of expression, access to information, democratic procedures and political messages.
