Description:

The fast development of the audiovisual early 30’s in the last century had influenced major changes in newspapers’ design all over the world. Still, by the end of 90’s, one could mention just some basic knowledge regarding newspapers and their design (format/ proportions, first page design, etc.).

The Course will familiarize the students with the basic principle of press design (alignment, contrast, proximity, repetition) and graphic elements (fonts, images, logos and infographics) used in media. Students will have plenty practical hours during which they will apply the knowledge for newspapers and magazines layout. A special attention will be paid to the design of the on-line press, as a separate element for graphical presentation of the informational sites.
